They allow us to relate to others, but they should never set the course we follow. I do believe emotions have their place and purpose. One of those ideas is that emotions and motivation are not a compass, nor are they reliable. They related to other things I have been realizing or talking about over the past few months. Both of these topics have given me a lot to think about. The first two chapters of the book cover knowledge of God and Bible literacy. I am going to share with you my thoughts after reading, but not so much a straight book review this time. It was a truly wonderful book and taught me so much. In addition to the awesome conversations Holy Spirit began opening my eyes and showing me different ways of thinking about things. The conversation never stopped as we continued diving into the book. After only two chapters in good conversation began happening. This was our first time reading nonfiction together. This was one of the additional books we added to our year. We read books together every month because we have a book club, but we sometimes read additional books together. Last month I read Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin with my best friend.
